Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 1 packet Lipton onion soup mix
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ¾ cup breadcrumbs
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • ¾ cup water or milk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or lightly grease a loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine eggs, ketchup, water (or milk), and Lipton onion soup mix. Stir until well mixed.
  • Add breadcrumbs and ground beef. Gently mix with your hands until just combined – avoid over-mixing.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf shape on the prepared baking sheet, or place it in a loaf pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra moisture, use milk instead of water.
  • For a crispy crust, bake on a sheet pan instead of a loaf pan.
  • For added flavor, mix in Worcestershire sauce, shredded cheese, or finely chopped vegetables.
  • To absorb excess grease, place slices of bread under the meatloaf while baking.
