Discover the ultimate juicy deer burger recipe! Perfectly packed with flavor, these burgers use ground beef for added richness, making them a satisfying meal for venison lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground venison
  • 1/4 lb ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or gluten-free alternative)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and buns

Instructions

  • Prepare the Meat Mix: Grind the venison if necessary, and combine it with the ground beef in a large bowl. Chill the mixture for 30 minutes.
  • Mix Ingredients: Add the egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to the meat. Mix gently to avoid overworking the mixture.
  • Shape Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about ¾-inch thick. Make a small indent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  • Cook the Patties: Grill or pan-fry the patties over medium heat. Cook for about 4–5 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  • Assemble the Burgers: Place the cooked patties on toasted buns and add your preferred toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese. Serve hot.

Notes

  • To reduce gamey flavor, marinate venison in buttermilk or vinegar before mixing.
  • Ground beef provides moisture and a richer texture to balance the lean venison.
  • For an extra smoky flavor, use a grill and baste the patties with BBQ sauce.
